Beautiful ancient monastic village recently restored and turned into a charming relais set amidst hills rich in vineyards producing the excellent Nobile di Montepulciano wine. The relais is quietly located near Lake Trasimeno and has enchanting views over the Chiana Valley and over the old medieval town Cortona. Distances: food shops 500 m, Castiglion del Lago with all kinds of shops 10 km, Cortona 15 km, Montepulciano 17 km, Siena 50 km. The relais has 18 bedrooms (12 doubles, 3 suites, 2 junior suites and 1 single room) all tastefully furnished with antique pieces and a charming restaurant (open for groups only) offering excellent recipes cooked by the chefs of the well-known restaurant “Tonino” in Cortona. All the rooms are provided with telephone, satellite TV, mini-bar, air-conditioning and safe. The stay for children under 5 years is free of charge. At guests’ disposal: large equipped and well-groomed garden, swimming-pool (12 x 7 m – maximum depth 2 m – open from 01/06 to 30/10) and wine bar (60 seats). Parking within the grounds. Mountain bikes for hire. Room service available upon request (payment on the spot). Transfers, guided tours, excursions, Italian-language classes, cooking classes and wine tasting can be booked. To get to the Relais "Alla Corte del Sole" leaving from Milan or Rome. Take the A1 Autostrada and exit at the Valdichiana exit ramp; immediately turn right and take the "superstrada" to Perugia.
Take the second exit for Cortona, then follow the signs for Montepulciano until you see the road signs for Petrignano, pass the town and after a short time you will see the Relais on your left.
